Professional background leading to a career in health and wellness:
Growing up I played hockey and soccer at a high level and always thought my sport skills would help get me into a good college and planned to get a business degree. Well life is always full of curveballs and in my junior year of high school halfway through the hockey season I was diagnosed with Leukemia and everything changed. While going through years of treatments I met some extraordinary people that not only helped me mentally and physically beat cancer but also helped me realize my new goal in life of helping others overcome challenges in life. I went on to graduate from Northeastern University in 2011 with a Bachelors’s in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Continued my education focus on mental health counseling and graduated from Rhode Island College in 2015 with my Masters in Clinical Social Work. I have been loving my career of helping others explore and overcome challenges in their lives and can’t wait to see where this career takes me.
What reasons are you passionate about helping others:
Growing up I always found fulfillment in helping people but after some major life experiences and getting to see that you can make a career out of helping people it was a no-brainer for me to pursue a counseling career. I love getting to know my clients, learning from them, and helping empower them to overcome their challenges and accomplish their goals.
What do you enjoy in your free time:
Spending time with family & friends, watching hockey, playing golf, and work on my honey-do list
