Professional background leading to career in health and wellness:
Myself and my family have always been very passionate about being active throughout our lives. My cousin, who is a physical therapist and a role model of mine, introduced me to this profession in 2016. I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2019, with a bachelors in Clinical exercise science. In my senior year I had an opportunity to work with elite and recreational runners on research for marathon racing shoes. After a few years of gaining experience within this field prior to physical therapy school I knew I wanted to be a part of a career that helped promote good health and wellness within my community. I graduated from physical therapy school in May of 2022, from Bellarmine University where I had clinical experience working with inpatient acute care, outpatient orthopedic, pediatric, gait/balance, low back pain, and people with Parkinson’s disease. I have completed the PWR! Moves therapist certification course to further my education of treating people with Parkinson’s disease.
What reasons you are passionate about helping others:
I love meeting and learning about people, and I am passionate about building a connection to help others reach their physical therapy goals. I love that this profession is for life-long learners, and gives me the ability to promote wellness through providing education and clinical skills, while working alongside a client to reach their goals and beyond.
What do you enjoy in your free time:
I enjoy playing volleyball (indoor/beach), running/walking, hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, going to the beach, traveling, being with family and friends, and exploring new places/restaurants!
